The game
SUNTHIEF is free to download and play. Khuram Imtiaz gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install it from Google Play and play it on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment.
You may not copy, sell, rent, redistribute, decompile or modify the game, extract its art, music or code, or use it to build a competing product, except where the law expressly allows it.
Online features and display names
When your phone is online the game creates an anonymous player and posts your runs to the global leaderboards. You can also sign in with Google to use the same player, progress and ad-free subscription on your other phones; signing in is optional. The Privacy Policy explains what is sent.
You can play under the generated name the game gives you or pick your own. Names must not be offensive, hateful or sexual, impersonate someone (including us), contain personal information, or advertise anything. We may reset a name that breaks these rules.
Fair play
- Don't cheat: no modified game versions, memory editors, bots, automated play or exploits used to post scores.
- Don't send fake or altered data to our server, overload it, or try to get into parts of it that aren't meant for you.
- Don't harass other players through your name or otherwise.
We may remove scores, keep a player off the leaderboards, or block a player from posting runs if we believe these rules were broken. Runs that look impossible may be held back automatically until we check them.
Coins, gems, heroes and other in-game items
Coins, gems, heroes, upgrades, boosts and everything else you earn in the game are part of the game, not property. They have no monetary value, can't be exchanged for money or traded, and are stored on your phone (and in your cloud save, if you signed in with Google), so they can be lost if you uninstall the game, clear its data or delete your data.
Bonuses you get for watching a rewarded ad are in-game items like any other.
Ads
SUNTHIEF is free and shows ads served by Google AdMob, between some runs and when you choose to watch a rewarded video for a bonus. The ads come from advertisers, not from us, and we aren't responsible for what they offer. A rewarded video gives its bonus when it finishes; we can't promise that an ad is always available.
The ad-free subscription
The optional ad-free subscription removes the ads between runs from SUNTHIEF (rewarded videos stay, and only play when you choose one). It is sold by Google Play, monthly or yearly, at the price Google Play shows you before you buy, and Google Play's terms apply to the purchase.
It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it in Google Play (Play Store > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; the game stays ad-free until the end of the period you paid for. Price changes follow Google Play's rules, which include telling you before they apply.
Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policies. This doesn't affect your rights under the consumer protection laws of your country.
The subscription belongs to the Google Play account that bought it. If you sign in with Google in the game, your player is ad-free on your other phones too. Uninstalling the game or deleting your data doesn't cancel it.
Ownership
The game, its worlds, characters, art, music, sound and text, and the SUNTHIEF name and emblem, belong to Khuram Imtiaz. The fonts Cinzel and Barlow are used under the SIL Open Font License.
Availability and changes
The game plays offline. Online features (leaderboards, events, the cloud save and settings sent by our server) may be unavailable at times, and we may change, reset or end them, for example to fix a problem or prepare a season. We may update the game, and may ask you to update to keep using online features.
No warranty
The game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or work on every device.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Khuram Imtiaz is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for the loss of progress or in-game items. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country.
Play safely: look up from your screen when you need to, and take breaks.
Ending
You can stop playing at any time and delete your data in the game (Settings > Delete my data). Deleting your data doesn't cancel an ad-free subscription: cancel it in Google Play. We may suspend online features for a player who breaks these terms.
Google Play
You get the game and the ad-free subscription through Google Play, whose terms also apply. Google is not responsible for the game or its support.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top. If a change is significant we will mention it in the game or on this website; continuing to play after that means you accept the new terms.
